  • What is the Dispensary Cashless ATM?

Our Dispensary Cashless ATM is a secure, compliant debit payment solution designed specifically for cannabis dispensaries. It enables retailers to accept debit card payments at checkout, both in-store and for deliveries.

Customers use their debit card and PIN, with transactions rounded up to the nearest $5 or $10. For example, a $17.20 purchase is processed as $20, and the customer receives $2.80 cash back at the register, just like an ATM withdrawal.

This cashless system creates a smooth, transparent checkout experience while reducing risk, boosting efficiency, and meeting all regulatory requirements.

  • Benefits of a Dispensary Cashless ATM?

    • Less cash handling, reducing risk and overhead
    • Higher sales and larger average transaction amounts
    • Faster, more efficient checkout experience
    • Improved safety for both staff and customers
    • Access to real-time reporting and transaction analytics
  • How It Works and Fees

Customers pay using their debit card and PIN at the dispensary terminal. The system functions like a cash withdrawal and appears as such on the customer’s bank statement. It can run alongside your existing ATM and offers a debit-like experience without the typical 3% or higher processing fees.

Dispensaries can also earn additional revenue on each transaction.

    Fees:

    • Free online application
    • Platform fee: $10.00 per month, per terminal
  • Easy-to-Use Dashboard with Multi-Location Management

Manage payments across multiple locations from one central dashboard. Enjoy single-login access to monitor and control all your dispensaries in one place.

  • How to Generate Revenue Every Month?

Dispensaries pay a flat processing fee of $2.75 per transaction. They then set a customer-paid convenience fee, allowing them to earn the difference.

    Example revenue model:

    • Processing fee: $2.75 per transaction (paid to the processor)
    • Customer fee: $3.50 per transaction (set by the dispensary)
    • Dispensary revenue: $0.75 per transaction

    Estimated earnings:

    • 500 transactions per day = $375 daily profit
    • $375 x 30 days = $11,250 monthly profit

The fee structure is fully customizable, giving dispensaries control over their revenue per transaction.

  • Application, Agreement and Funding Timeline

    Approval & Agreement

Application approval typically takes 1 to 4 weeks and includes a 12-month service agreement.

    Settlement & Funding

Transactions are auto-batched daily at midnight (CDT) and settled within 48 banking hours.

    3-Day Funding Overview

Debit card transactions are collected in batches and settled overnight, with funds reaching your bank account within three business days.

    Here's how it works:

    • Monday: Customer makes a purchase
    • Tuesday: Transaction batch is submitted; bank verifies and allows for reversals or disputes
    • Wednesday: Processor clears funds and runs compliance, fraud, and chargeback checks
    • Thursday: Funds are deposited into your business bank account
  • What are the application requirements?

Make a free online application. You'll need a cannabis-friendly bank to apply. If needed, CBS can provide a complimentary introduction to one of our national banking partners.

    Required documents include:

    • Valid driver’s license
    • W9 form
    • Processing statements (if no ATM is currently on-site)
    • Photo of the ATM inside the business (if applicable). While having an on-site ATM is preferred, it’s not required. If no ATM is present, recent processing statements can be helpful.
    • Cannabis license
    • Voided check or a bank letter on official letterhead with routing and account numbers
    • A 12-month agreement is required. Free customer support is available 24/7, including weekends.
  • Why CBS Cashless ATM Stands Out from ACH Solutions Like AeroPay and CanPay

Fintech processors such as AeroPay and CanPay rely on ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions, requiring customers to download an app and link their bank account. While these options are compliant and cashless, they add friction to the checkout experience.

Dutchie Payments is another ACH-based option but is limited exclusively to dispensaries using the Dutchie POS and e-commerce system. It is not a general-purpose solution.

CBS Cashless ATM offers a faster, more familiar experience. Customers simply insert their debit card and enter a PIN—no apps, no account setup

We run on real debit rails for quick settlements, improved customer satisfaction, and seamless integration with both retail and delivery operations.

  • Why choose CBS and Customer Support?

With over 10 years of experience in the cannabis and hemp industry, CBS offers a reliable, compliant solution in a space where many traditional processors fall short.

Our system helps dispensaries reduce cash dependency, boost average ticket size, enhance the customer experience and offer a revenue generating opportunity.

What sets CBS apart is our commitment to service, we’re available 24/7, including weekends, and we actually answer the phone.

We partner with two major U.S. processors: one dedicated to cannabis businesses and another for CBD, hemp, and Delta-related products and services.

  • Is the system compliant with cannabis regulations?

Yes, our Dispensary Cashless ATM is designed to meet all legal and regulatory standards. It provides transparent, verifiable transactions that give both dispensaries and customers confidence.

The portable terminal can be used at the counter or for deliveries. Customers pay using their debit card and PIN, just like a standard ATM withdrawal, but without exchanging physical cash.

  • About PIN Debit Card Payments — Real Debit Rails

Debit card payments work like a regular ATM withdrawal with a PIN but without any cash involved. “Real debit rails” are secure, regulated networks that connect the customer’s bank directly to the merchant—no apps or account setups needed.

Unlike traditional ATMs, this method avoids extra fees, risks, and maintenance. It doesn’t rely directly on Visa or Mastercard, making it safer and more affordable.

More customers prefer using debit cards today, making this a modern alternative to old ATM machines. Traditional ATMs carry risks like money laundering, cash handling, and added costs for equipment and transport.

Networks like NYCE, Pulse, and Star are the secure systems behind most U.S. debit card transactions. They move money safely when you use a PIN debit card in stores, ATMs, or online.
